We are proud to invite back to the WOC Gallery walls, Bristol legend Mick Hockney for his second solo show, The House Of Mouse & Pandas.
Friday 31st January 2014, 6 - 10pm.
Mick Hockney studied Fine Art at Gloucestershire College of Art and Design and Manchester Polytechnic, before becoming a commercial sculptor and working for various companies including Madame Tussauds and the Welsh National Opera. He worked on the satirical puppet TV series ‘Spitting Image’, and the Aardman Animation feature films ‘Chicken Run’ and ‘Wallace and Gromit: Curse of The Were-Rabbit’.
His own artwork uses images and ideas to highlight an array of social issues, from politics to the environment, leavened with a healthy dose of gallows humour. He has shown in several group exhibitions and was one of a hundred creators to feature in the ‘Most Wanted’ issue of IDN Magazine in 2011. After a hard day at the easel Mick enjoys nothing more than kicking back with his pipe and listening to his sublime collection of free jazz and Captain Beefheart records.
